Pretty weak for 18v : Black & Decker CDC180ASB 18-volt Compact Drill
I asked for this particular drill (battery powered) for Christmas - and got it :-) I have some Black & Decker items and am pleased with all of them. Jig saw, two galvanic drills, weed whacker, tiller, small work bench, wall paper steamer (yes, B&D doesn't make them anymore, but I loved my customary one that I had for 20 years, which finally gave out after many hours of use not only by me, but also by some of my office colleagues. But I found a "brand-new/old" one, never used, on e-bay.) Some of those tools might not be favorable for a professional handyman, but for a do-it-yourself woman (or some of the more clumsy, helpless do-it-yourself men!), they are wonderful, reliable products.

Nice idea, shame about the build and build potential : DEWALT DC725KA 18-Volt Cordless Compact Hammer Drill/Driver
This one will last even longer. Best feature is it stands up on its battery, the Led light is great and it comes with 2 batteries. Why no photo on Amazon? I spotted it in Lowes and tracked the estimate back to Amazon. My only complaint is the chuck loosens up after a while. Not a big problem and will probable get great with use. I give it 5-stars

persisting run out problems : DEWALT DC759KA 18-Volt NiCad 1/2-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit
I have had this drill for about six months and am very happy with it. I am a homeowner so I can't speak as to how this drill would function while all day use. For projects colse to my house it has fullness of power although, like every other cordless tool I have used, it needs a microscopic more time drilling/driving straight through hard wood. If I want to drill straight through something thick and tough, I used a beefier corded drill. So far, I have not noticed any of the battery life problems discussed by other reviewers.
I picked up a set of the Dewalt hex shank bits and have not noticed any slippage. The only time I have had a complaint with the drill was while using a hole saw to install locksets in two doors. Of the four holes, the bit slipped out of the chuck two times. Once I reinserted the hole saw it went right on straight through the door. I don't know if I didn't get the chuck tight adequate or if the chuck just prefers the hex shank bits.
All in all a great drill. I can't dream ever installing curtain rods, assembling bookcases, etc. With a corded drill and/or screwdriver again!

I'm of course happy with this drill. I only have one quibble: The Led that shows your work area in the dark is partially occluded by the chuck, so there's all the time a wee shadow. Aside from that, it's great.
